It has been a long long time since I have blogged! I always start blogging again with good intentions but life happens and it drops to the bottom of my to do list every time. I am sorry.
I am back this time to let you know that I am starting a Knit a Long with Vickie’s Grandifolia Lite pattern.
Here is the info!
One day a life time ago I decided that we should have a knit-a-long of Vickie’s Grandifolia Lite. Well, it was actually October 2016 that it was supposed to start. One problem with yarn supply led to another because I was trying to have everyone use a particular brand of yarn.
I have gotten over being angry about the situation and have decided to resurrect the knit-a-long starting Wednesday, August 16th, 2017. Rain or Shine people!
I will be giving starting support on that Wednesday between 1 and 3 and the next day, Thursday, August 17th between 7 and 9 PM in the shop. There will be ongoing drop in support during our hours of operation.
What will you need to get started?
- Pattern which is available for free on Ravelry or in the shop
- 4mm or 3.5mm (if you are a loose knitter) 24” or more circular needle
- 15 stitch markers
- 2 colours of 4 ply or sock weight yarn in the amount for the size you choose to do.
For Small (53” wide x 21” deep) you will need 65 grams of color 1 and 100 grams of color 2
For Medium (60” wide x 23” deep) you will need 110 grams of color 1 and 130 grams of color 2
For Large (74” wide x 27” deep) you will need 130 grams of color 1 and 155 grams of color 2
If you want to do the shawl all in one color total the 2 color amounts and get that amount in 1 color.
I have started mine (because I need to be winning….no… because I was making sure I know the pattern well) and I am using Arctica Luna and Ancient Arts.
There are many combinations in the shop that you could assemble or you could dig through your stash and find something!
Make sure to post pictures of your projects on the Facebook Group of Kniterary/Hedgehog Stitchery please!
